Adrienne Verrilli is a communications veteran and public policy expert who has worked in the nonprofit community for 12 years. She brings broad-based strategic communications experience to her clients, as well as an expertise in media relations, message development and spokesperson training. Adrienne works on a range issues including health care access, affordable housing and community redevelopment, conservation and education. Recently, Adrienne led policy advocacy and public education communications on tobacco control, air quality and lung health issues for the American Lung Association in California.
Prior to Hershey|Cause, Adrienne worked at Spitfire Strategies where she led efforts to increase access to health care for children and immigrants, designate protected marine areas off the California coast, improve air quality in California’s Central Valley and advance environmental issues in Washington State. At the Public Interest Media Group, Adrienne worked to advance access to the health care system for low-income people and people with special medical needs, as well as promote the prevention of teen pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Adrienne served as the director of communications for the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS), and cut her communications teeth on reproductive health and rights issues at the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association and Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Following her passion for a more just world, she left a 10-year career in the finance to pursue work with nonprofits.
